What’s the point?

Taking a selfie every half an hour or so is a modern day essential part of being part of today’s world.  But, usually the subject of the selfie is recognisable.

Except of course in societies that strictly enforce the wearing of burkas.

So, what is the point of this selfie?  It could be a picture anybody, anywhere.  Is the intention to show pictures of an anonymous purple sheet to friends and try to spot any difference between them?  I mean, all they will show is an anonymous purple sheet devoid of any personality or character.  It could be worn by anybody.  Not only is the wearer anonymous, but also they are expressionless.  Normal selfies have at least a smile, if not any one of a million other expressions that typically fill the average mobile phone.

How very sad that these ladies can’t enjoy any part of that.
