Thunderbirds are definitely go

No no no no no no no.

This is just not F-A-B.

This is NOT Lady Penelope.

What is wrong with you people?

In all other respects, I am really enjoying the re-boot of Thunderbirds.  Or is that ‘Thunderbirds are go‘?

There is enough that is true to the original string driven thing that was every young boy’s dream, to keep this every young boy’s dream.  The over complex and completely over engineered procedures that show how the ‘machines’ work are boy-centred pure excitement. And they have been retained yet enhanced to make them slicker and far more exciting.

I always wanted to be Scott Tracy, pilot of Thunderbird 1.  I even had a model Thunderbird 1.  I knew off by heart the entire procedure involved in getting from their living room and down through the hangar and into the cockpit of Thunderbird 1. Yes I did.  And it’s not changed much in the re-boot, so that could still be me.

So, back to Lady Penelope.  The latest incarnation of Lady Penelope is just so very very wrong. Firstly she doesn’t have that purr as she talks.  Every boy in love with the original Lady P remembers that purr. The latest voice is extremely flat and sexless.

Secondly, this latest Lady Creighton-Ward just doesn’t have those mysterious milf eyes that every man cub watching the original went to sleep thinking of.

I’m right aren’t I?
