Radio Caroline capitulated with the authorities in 1964

Watching the mentally afflicted radio anoraks who are suggesting that Radio Caroline appearing on the UK Radioplayer system is dancing with the devil, cow-tailing to the authories, being the Borg’s big brother, the ‘orrible Ofcom orifice, and general lackey to those who control us, reminded me that this is not the first time Radio Caroline has tried to conform to the norm, damn them.

I realise there was extreme angst and outrage caused when the mentally afflicted radio anoraks actually witnessed Radio Caroline joining a platform upon which all the other radio stations can be found, but the first time that Radio Caroline licked the butt of  ‘the man’ was actually back in 1964. I kid you not!

Indeed, what was the first thing Radio Caroline did? Well, rather than show it was truly free, in 1964 it immediately started broadcasting on exactly the same waveband as the BBC!  Outrageous.  Rather than shun convention, as required by the mentally afflicted radio anoraks, and broadcast on a random band that nobody but mentally afflicted radio anoraks was capable of tuning to, and therefore prove it was truly free, Radio Caroline chose instead to broadcast on a platform that was accessible and meant they were, shock horror, ‘alongside’ all the awful Borg radio of the day. Disgusting!

It will come as no surprise to you, having already revealed this unbelievable information, that to compound this, Radio Caroline always broadcast on a frequency within the Medium Waveband that conformed to the internationally agreed use of frequencies in 9kHz steps. Un-fecking-believable!

Yes, you are right, had they been a proper pirate they would have bucked this harness and plonked themselves on any frequency regardless of it being the centre of an internationally agreed ‘channel’ or not. Adhering to this frequency convention that had been invented by the oppressing authorities of Europe obviously meant Radio Caroline was not free, and was just becoming part of the establishment.

The mentally afflicted radio anoraks that shun Radio Caroline for its recent moves on to Radioplayer should take a good hard look at themselves and maybe self-destruct for not realising that this was not the first time Radio Caroline had its tongue firmly wedged into the anus of authority.  Indeed, by ever listening to Radio Caroline, ever ever, it can only mean they too fully accepted and supported Caroline’s doffing of her Dutch cap to those who are in charge and watching us all.
