I read this somewhere ages ago, and I thought it was pretty thought-provoking, so I’ve plagiarised it for here from my copy that’s on my wall, which came from where I know not:
“Every morning in Africa when the sun rises, a giraffe awakens knowing it has to outrun the fastest lion or be hunted to death.
Every morning in Africa when the sun rises, a lion awakens knowing it has to outrun the slowest giraffe or be starved to death.
So, it does not matter at all whether you are a giraffe or a lion, when the sun rises you really need to be running at your best. You only live once. What do you really want to do and achieve in life before you can run no further?”
