It could be worse. He could be a bird capable of soaring into the air and over the tree-tops basking in the rays of the sun. You could be keeping this brilliant bird shut inside a small cage in a small room so they never feel the sun on their back or the wind in their feathers.
Or he could be a fish capable of swimming hundreds of miles in rivers or ocean. Yet you could be keeping him in a small bowl or aquarium which only allows him to swim up and down or around in comparative tiny circles.
‘Pets’ are animals held against their will, treated appallingly by humans convinced they ‘love’ them. Since when has ‘love’ been so cruel?
