On the buses

London is not alone in its inclusive attitude towards its culturally diverse community. Here in Liverpool young black kids have been given identical jobs – entertaining the passengers by sitting at the rear of buses playing very loud tinny sounding music.

Liverpool has an amazing bus stop system. For no readily apparent reason they put bus stops hundreds of metres apart, and split services to the same destination between them. Just watch those poor little old ladies running from one to another depending on which bus comes!

In order to hide the boarded-up derelict buildings or the building sites that dominate this capital of culture, Liverpool buses are losing their windows (I don’t mean the yobs are smashing them out). They are being covered by complete lengths of plastic with paintings on!

On second thoughts, maybe the pictures obscuring the windows are to stop people knowing where they are, so they don’t ever get off at the right stops and have to spend more money getting back to where they should have gotten off.

Or…. Maybe it’s to prevent retina damage to tourists on the street. All that concentrated orange glow leaking out from a bus filled with locals must be very dangerous!
