Why do people shave? What’s that all about? What’s so wrong about having hair on a body? Women (in the UK) shave their armpits, and their legs, as well as – heaven forbid – any hair that may appear on their face. Men have to remove natural facial hair from around their mouth, chins and cheeks.
Why?
I mean, it is all so completely illogical. Why not everybody have a fetish for shaving off a strip from the top of the head? Who makes these rules about what you should and should not shave off? Why do people follow them?
I’ve heard women (fashion victims) say things like, “Oh god, look it’s a man with a beard, yeuch!” as if wearing a beard was unnatural. Surely, it should be the other way around with them recoiling when someone has shaved off any natural hair?
