The bullies always win

There’s a misconception that quietly asking for something gets it. This is a lie. The big lie is that democracy and the legal process achieves success. It never does.

History shows us that those who get anywhere in life are the ones that scream, shout and bully their way to getting whatever they want.

From the person kicking off within a Job Centre, shouting and screaming and effectively queue jumping in front of the quiet ones, through to the person planting bombs who later becomes a national leader, the truth is that the bullies always win.

Those who once delighted in planting bombs and murdering people, or organising others to bomb and murder, in the name of the IRA, ended up being voted in as the peaceful and legitimate leaders of the very area they were trying to destroy. In South Africa, Nelson Mandela, a convicted terrorist, having run the MK and successfully killed and maimed hundreds of people, including children, later became an inspirational leader.

In both the cases, Northern Ireland and South Africa, those who tried to keep within the law got nowhere. Those who bullied with guns and bombs, they achieved. This simple reality is reflected around the world again and again and again.

It’s sad that this is the case. It would be so nice to feel that people using the democratic process would have greater influence on change.

Rule keepers lose, rule breakers win.

The problem with this reality is that it only leads to one thing – more and more bullying and more and more violence, death and destruction.

The more bullies that realise that bullying achieves results, the more will come out to bully. They won’t debate or compromise, they’ve decided what they want, and nobody can get in their way. They will get what they want.

From the trade union activists through to the unemployable hiding behind their Guy Fawkes ‘V’ masks, violence, destruction of property, and intimidation always gets them exactly what they want.

From the person pushing into a queue through to the teenage thug demanding a younger child hand over its pocket money, might is always right. Power is in the hands of those who are the most aggressive and demanding.

People who just take take take always seem to win win win.

  1. There’s a misconception that quietly asking for something gets it. (TELL US MORE. And who told you that?)

(Do you know that Nelson Mandella has just died and history shows that what you are saying is
    balderdash. We`ll go on …

    SCREAM, SHOUT AND BULLY

From the person kicking off within a Job Centre, …(Are you saying that CLAIMANTS in a job centre always win? You`re living in a Twilight Zone if you do… This has got to be the most crass and misguided statement you have ever made. So we will ignore the next paragraph.

You say: In both the cases, Northern Ireland and South Africa, those who tried to keep within the law got nowhere. Those who bullied with guns and bombs, they achieved. This simple reality is reflected around the world again and again and again. (Sorry, MANDELLA, AND GHANDI prove you wrong?)

It’s sad that this is the case.

Wrong: What is sad is your analysis.

    1. Mandela set up and was the leader of MK. He admits in his book that he signed off bombings that killed women and children. So the point stands. He started off as a bully and then he won.

In a Job Centre they will always attend to those who make the loudest noise and disruption. They will jump the queue ahead of those who have been waiting quietly. Fact. So once again the bullies win.

  2. Look to David Cameron and the arms dealers he deals with, and Tony Blair the war monger who sent thousands to their deaths in Iraq. ARMS DEALERS – BIG CORPORATIONS. Absolutely nothing to do with democracy since both prime ministers did everything they could to undermine democracy. Sorry, your opions are pathetic.

    1. So, since the argument of my article is that the bullies always win, and all you have done is list two further bullies, how does this challenge my opinions rather than agree with them?

      1. Sorry I must admit that I did not give your opinion the due regard that you thought it deserved. Your depressing article that bullies always win, was somethg that I responded to, because I am more optimistic than you. Bullies do not always win. There is a history to show the struggle of the oppressed against the oppressor.

Kind regards, and glad there is a channel of debate .
