Take a good look at this map. You will see that countries are either red or blue. Take a moment and see if you can work out what the different colours represent.
Humanity as a species across the globe is divided on many things. The biggest being religion, then politics, and then a whole host of other differences.
Nearly always we are taught that we are right and the others, the people who are different to us, are wrong. They believe in different ways, different priorities, and more often than not, the differences divide us to war.
There is this one difference, quite a critical difference, that we have across the world. The difference is illustrated on the map. There are red areas and blue areas. They show the differences. And the only options are to be red or to be blue. But which is truly the right way, is it the red way or is it the blue way?
On the face of it, the red has it, appearing to be in the majority. However, there are large very sparsely populated areas included in the red. Conversely, in the blue there are areas with very highly concentrated populations.
Having said that, were somebody to bother with a head count, I suspect the red would still win.
But being in the majority doesn’t make red right does it?
Neither does it make blue wrong.
Or vice versa.
The thing that divides the red areas from the blue areas doesn’t seem to have started wars. Maybe I’m wrong and it has, but I don’t recall any. In many ways, the reds and the blues just accept each other. Being from a red country and visiting a blue country can cause issues, but these are solely ones of adjustment and getting used to the difference for the duration of the visit. No wars start.
Scientifically, there probably is a logical explanation as to which is better, red or blue, but I have yet to read it. This is why, for the foreseeable future the red areas will stay red and the blue areas will stay blue.
So what exactly is it the divides us?
Well, the map shows the side of the road each country has its citizens drive vehicles on. Reds drive on the right. Blues drive on the left.
But which side is the correct side?
