Lefties, especially the wealthy middle class ones, are creatures of habit. One of their habits is to blame Margaret Thatcher for everything they consider that’s bad about society.
Indeed, the unforgiving Scouse, apart from taking only two sentences before somehow incorporating the word ‘Scouse’, three sentences before mentioning they hate ‘The Sun’, and four before talking about the glorious 1970s, will work into their rant, “I blame Margaret Thatcher”.
In the latter of Mrs Thatcher’s years of ruling over us, part of the anti-Conservative campaign was to constantly swipe and snipe about Thatcher and her policies. One load of leftie idiots spent a fortune on “Ditch the Bitch” badges and posters and going around spreading the word by graffiti on walls (this is pre-Facebook walls) before being screamed at by another load of leftie idiots that such a phrase was sexist and derogatory to women. Quickly they rounded-up all the badges and posters, and anybody who hadn’t heard the latest edict and was inadvertently still proudly sporting a ‘Ditch the Bitch’ badge was shuffled into a dark corner to have their head re-programmed with enlightenment, whilst the badge was removed and thrown away (this was before the lefties imposed recycling on us).
It became part of my act, at work or in my home, even decades after Mrs Thatcher left Number 10 that when I, on occasions, found myself in a disaster – The ceiling’s just collapsed on my head, spilling the huge bucket of urine that I was carrying, which immediately ignited and burned the place down – I would wait for a pause in the disaster and say, “I blame Margaret Thatcher”. It was hilarious. Erm, well, maybe the first time. Got up late, missed the train? “I blame Margaret Thatcher”. Ha ha ha.
Ok, it was a bit of a tedious catchphrase, and it slowly died. Then suddenly I found myself no longer surrounded by the glories of the deep South, but in Liverpool, a place where everybody thinks they are still in the 1970s and 1980s. In conversation, or on radio phone-ins, or within pieces written in my regional (leftie, naturally) paper, when it comes to “Don’t know what the world’s coming to,” type rants, they have to include, “I blame Margaret Thatcher.” It appears to be the law.
Obviously when I first started to hear this phrase I was reminded of my hilarious years of using it as an annoying catchphrase, but then I listened further to what the ‘Scousers’ (bear in mind I know they are Scousers because it’s mandatory to mention it within two sentences when speaking) blame Margaret Thatcher for. Well, of course, she is to blame for everything, apparently, but mainly she is to blame for our greedy society they say.
Hmmm. So, Thatcher invented our greedy take-take-take society did she? How conveniently Scousers and the non-Ditch The Bitch badge wearing right-on lefties forget that pre-Thatcher we had already developed a pretty mean and cut-throat greedy take-take-take society. It was controlled by whoever it was at the time that controlled the greedy Union bosses. Some say they were controlled by dark forces from the USSR.
Greedy Union bosses were usually earning 20 to 30 times what the workers they represented earned, and didn’t lose a penny when they called for strike action, yet the membership couldn’t see this might be wrong. The Unions controlled the less greedy workforce’s minds and flexed them like a muscle in order to create a three-day working week and rolling power-cuts across the country. There were no negotiations. Just a society driven by violence and intimidation, and the greed for control and money.
All of this happened a long decade before Margaret Thatcher came to power. We had already become a very greed driven society. All that happened when Thatcher took control is that those who were feeding their greed changed. She didn’t make people greedy, they already were. All she was guilty of was not dealing with the tendency to be greedy. Maybe she or her Government of the day should have. Nobody addressed the problem, and for that I blame Margaret Thatcher.
Yet, you try to explain this to Scousers and they respond by punching you in the face and stealing your wallet.
