It seems incredible to think that it was only four years ago that the whole, as Penn and Teller would say, “bullshit” of Climate Change was still called “Global Warming“.
Over the next twelve months the phrase “Climate Change” will slowly be replaced by the buzzwords “Global Climate Disruption“. I’m not sure if this will then get the TLA (Three Letter Abbreviation) of GCD, but we’ll see.
Also during 2011, the green movement and climate religion will give heavy emphasis on “ocean acidification” as it tries to reposition focus away from the crumbling and unsure science that says humans have any influence over or contribution to CO2 levels whatsoever, and we will see more projects spring up that will some how sort offset the acidification problem in exchange for – yes, you guessed it – lots of money.
Anyway. Back in the day when GCD was just Global Warming, Penn and Teller produced an episode of their excellent “Bullshit” series on the whole con. Be aware that it is extremely sweary, but nevertheless is extremely well-produced show and well worth spending half an hour of your life watching.
Don’t worry, I’ve sorted out your carbon offset payment!
