Dirty Water

Yes, Dirty water…Just been reading about how a few years ago, January was the driest January for 2 million years, and how this meant there were water shortages throughout the UK come the August and September of that year.

So, why the delay between when it rains and when we get water to the taps? Hmm, let me get this right in my mind’s eye: Fresh rain comes down from the sky. It goes somewhere. It hangs around there for six or seven months, then thumps its way through pipes and into my clean glass. Oh, that’s disgusting. We drink old stale water! It’s six months old.

Yeuch! I’ve a cup that’s had the same water in it for six weeks and it’s very smelly, green, and has things moving about in it. It’s almost made me look for somewhere else to keep my false teeth overnight, I can tell you.

Now we’re told that tap water is old and stale rain from six months ago? All this time I thought it was fresh!!

Tell you what to do. Write to your MP! You just ask them what they are going to do about the stale water problem. Don’t know about you, but in the future I’m voting for the party that erects huge upside down umbrellas all over the country to funnel fresh rain water directly to our taps.
