Will we ever stop the X Factor killing music?

For 3 solid months up to and including every bloody Christmas the charts are taken over and controlled by the X Factor and Simon Cowell.

This wouldn’t be so bad if his fetish was for something other than the handbag shuffling music designed to be played on Heart. But instead that’s what spews out from the show, and all the drones who watch it buy the stuff and nothing else is able to get into the top ten.

The only non-Simon Cowell owned stuff that charts is from artists who aren’t signed to his label but appear on the X Factor.

Add to that his current troupe will put out a random ‘charidy’ single, plus the winner from last year and the year before that will put out singles, and the winner of his other show Britian’s Got Talent will guest on X Factor and put out a single. Every week is carefully crafted so there’s a new single coming out from the Cowell factory, and so the X Factor and Cowell dominate the number one and the charts with their durge.

It’s all too much.

How on earth can we get rid of them so that music can live and breathe again and real artists and songs and singers and new music can get a look in?
