I was asked to sign a petition deploring the probable influx of Bulgarians and Romanians. I will leave it to you to decide my motives, but 140,000 others also signed. This caused a Government response of much blah, blah, blah, but the salient point was that there is nothing that the Government can do and the counter point was that of course, some Brits have used the same rules that will allow the Romanians, etc., to come here, to themselves go and live elsewhere in the EU. I don’t think they get it at all.
Look, think about a car sharing club that has 26 members and then I join making it 27. Maybe there will be more members one day, but for now that is it. I can drive any car owned by a club member but that is OK as they can drive mine.
Only thing is, I have a Seat Ibiza that is worth £500 but I look and see that the other members have Jaguars and Mercs and BMW’s and even a Bentley. So I invoke my right to take the Bentley. I tell the guy that he can use my Seat, but for some reason he does not seem happy. He is less happy when I say that I cannot afford the fuel so he has to keep fillng it up for me. His problem, not mine.
So I take the Bentley and put my kids in it ands we go to the builders merchants to buy some bags of sand and cement. They fit OK in the back of the Bentley, but the guy goes mad at me. I don’t see why, as I always used the Seat for that job before. His problem, not mine.
It is great to be in a club where nobody wants what I have to offer, but I see things that I want and have every right to take them.
