I live near the sea. When I look out from my house over the sea, to the left of my view I see a huge wind farm. In the distance I can see another, and with a pair of binoculars I can see another.
I don’t have a problem with wind turbines as a concept. I know lots of people hate them based on how they look. These are the people who hated TV aerials, then hated satellite dishes, and, well, hate anything ‘new’ that might appear in a neighbourhood.
Neither do I have a problem with them as a method of producing ‘free’ electricity from the natural winds. Where I do have a problem, a huge problem, is with the absolute fortune they are costing us which they shouldn’t be costing us.
I’ve mentioned before how the mad ‘believers’ in the Global Warming religion want us to focus on Carbon Dioxide emissions, which for some mysterious reason they just call ‘carbon’.
Actually, they call it that because the word ‘carbon’ conjures up an image of black, dirty, greasy, gunky ‘stuff’, whilst ‘carbon dioxide’ conjures up an image of, well, clean air. They need us not to like but to fear ‘carbon dioxide’, so it has to be presented as dirty lumps of plip-plop in order for us to fall for the story.
They want to implement compulsory global systems which implement a ‘carbon tax’ and can allow ‘carbon trading’. Conveniently, those promoting the Global Warming religion the loudest are those very nicely geared up to profit from ‘carbon trading’.
For us in the UK, the carbon taxing has already started, silently and stealthily implemented into this country from the EU that controls us.
Right now as we suffer the huge 20% rises in our fuel bills we are seeing as the result of ‘carbon taxes’, this mad-cap scheme is throwing thousands of households into completely unnecessary fuel poverty. It’s going to get so much worse. It can’t possibly get better.
Here’s how it works. The methods of electricity production are graded and taxed. A unilateral decision has been made by these mad people that producing electricity by burning oil or coal is bad. It isn’t bad of course, but that’s what they’ve decided because of their religion. Because it’s ‘bad’, electricity produced this way is heavily carbon taxed.
Meanwhile, ‘clean’ (another deliberate choice of word, making it sound ‘good’, unlike that ‘bad’ stuff they are taxing) electricity production is heavily subsidised by being given ‘grants’ and 100% subsistence from the ‘carbon taxes’ the traditional methods are being subjected to.
The problem with ‘clean’ electricity production is that it is inefficient. ‘Clean’ electricity is typically produced via the wind turbine farms that are springing up all over the place. However, the amount of electricity produced is at worst none, and at best a little more than is needed.
Over the course of a day, electricity demand will have peaks and troughs. Obviously, more electricity is needed in the evenings, less during the day, etc. If it is suddenly a cold day then consumption will go up, a warm day it’ll go down, and so on.
Traditional methods of electricity production follow a simple law of being able to supply a demand. As demand goes up you put more coal on the fire, or you increase the amount of oil you are burning. Simple.
However, wind turbines don’t work to the demand of humans. They work when the wind blows. They stop working when the wind doesn’t blow. This can mean that wind farms can be producing electricity that nobody wants. It can mean that wind farms aren’t producing electricity at peak demand times when people want it. Wind turbines cannot respond to consumer demand.
Bizarrely, when wind farms have electricity that the national grid doesn’t want, they get paid a fortune in compensation from the carbon tax fund for not being able to ‘sell’ it to the national grid. Yep, they get paid for nothing.
They are never ‘fined’ or taxed for not being able to supply electricity on demand, of course. Neither do they ever pay any ‘carbon taxes’.
The costs of building wind turbines and the associated paraphernalia is obscenely high, and wind farms are a goldmine in subsidies and funding for those quickly on the bandwagon, all of course taken from the ‘carbon taxes’ being forced upon traditional electricity production methods, and being passed on to the consumer.
The more wind farms and other inefficient ‘green’ or ‘clean’ electricity production methods we are forced to pay for, the more our electricity prices will continue to soar, even though there’s no electricity available to us.
There will also be a tipping point from when it’ll be cheaper for there to be periods when we are forced to suffer power-cuts because of the lack of electricity being produced and the overwhelming ‘carbon taxation’ of conventional and efficient methods of generation.
This will no doubt please the Global Warming alarmists who seem to live to self-flagellate humanity, and it’ll all be based on their ‘faith’ in their fear of carbon dioxide having some disastrous connection with the climate.
Something needs to be done to stop these people before they freeze more of us to death. Or is their ‘master plan’ to use this to help depopulate, such is their hatred of humanity?
