Why is this man in a dress being given such wonderful treatment on his tour of England and Scotland?

Do we really want to revere those who think that the cure for the complaints from children who have been abused is to have them intimidated into silence and let their abuser move on to pastures new and fresh meat?
Should the head of an organisation that lies and tells people with Aids that condoms have tiny holes to allow infection be allowed to pass through be allowed to come into this country?
There are so many people involved in far lesser crimes who get stopped at the airport, but why won’t this gay-basher be turned away?
Can one of the wealthiest male virgins really think he’s got the vaguest of clues about relationships, love and the pressures of family in the poorer classes that he wants to bleed of their money?
Only those who are perverted themselves can have any interest in this woman-hating organisation, surely?
Looking back thousands of years to the origins of the Roman Catholic version of the church we see how they altered the scriptures to remove Jesus’s wife Mary and his brother James. When people try to change history about such matters as the Holocaust, people quite rightly put them in prison. Why isn’t this man in a dress in prison for the history changing and the crimes of his organisation?
Slowly, humans are seeing the Catholic church for what it truly is; an evil organisation preying on those who believing in praying. It is one of the fastest disappearing religious organisations, these days only attractive to the evil and powerful types like Tony Blair. Why would we want such evil here?
Go home, Pope. Go back to your place of hoarded untold wealth and out of touch beliefs and disgusting rituals all born of sin. Go away and don’t come back until you’ve learned how to be kind and to spread real charity to those you squeeze dry to support your lifestyle.

Goodness. A religious subject we can agree on at last. In face, I may even go further than you. At risk of attracting hate mail from devout RC's who may not turn the other cheek, why is an unreformed Nazi the leader of this organisation? I say unreformed, because to my knowledge he has never apologised for being in the Hitler youth – or, indeed, condemned the actions of the regime. I'm not saying he couldn't be forgiven – but he doesn't even appear to be sorry.
On a different note – my personal theory on the Catholic abuse scandal. I don't agree it has anything to do with the vows of celibacy etc. – the popular theory. My hypothesis is that it has much more to do with the origins of the child abuse in wider society. What we know there is that those who are abused as children, within, say, a family, frequently go on to abuse. I'd put money that the majority of priests were abused by other priests in their own childhoods. It's not an excuse – but it perhaps explains how it happened, and how it was so widespread.
Final thought – I so wish I had kept my favourite t-shirt from the 1980's, which I bought in Camden. It had a picture of the previous pope on the front – holding a big joint. The legend was “I like the Pope. The Pope smokes Dope”. Childish, I know, but I would have worn it in to central London today with pride.
