They are feeding your paranoia

Everybody is, to one degree or another, paranoid.

Not only that, but it’s getting worse for nearly all of us.

And one of the greatest tricks in this world that separates the sheep from the shepherds, is the ability to feed that paranoia.  Feeding paranoia to make us react in particular ways is how the game works.

Paranoia manifests itself in many ways, from the paranoia we all have about death and what happens to us at death or after life, through to the paranoia and suspicion about everything and anything around us. Those in ‘authority’. Those who ask us to do things. Anybody. They are lying to us, aren’t they?  Keeping us in the dark.  Not letting us know what’s really going on.

This is all beautifully enhanced for so many of us, with our continuous use of skunk, cocaine or almost all other drugs, including alcohol.  All of them induce large bouts of paranoia in us, and it doesn’t go away, it becomes a residual paranoia.  And not just the paranoia that is fodder for the Jeremy Kyle TV Show participants who accuse their girlfriends of having sex with an entire football team during a 30 second visit to the loo, either.  No, it can be milder and more subtle, unconsciously shaping who we are.

Now, here’s the important bit.  There are people, lots of people, out there who make an absolute fortune out of feeding our paranoia. And it’s not usually those you think it is.

Feeding paranoia, or stroking the ego of the paranoid, comes in so many forms.

Religions, as a classic example, feed the paranoia about death.  The art of successfully feeding paranoia is to make a person feel good once they’ve signed up to the way of thinking that the feeder is providing.  Religions provide feel good ideas and rituals, all designed to stave off the paranoia about death.  By training the paranoid to consider that there is life after death, but subject to plenty of useful (to the feeder) pre-conditions, then the person who’s had their paranoia fed is putty in the hands of the feeder. Want them to part with money?  No problem. Want them to complain and help raise your profile?  No problem. Want them to blow themselves up?  No problem.

Beyond religion and the almost out of control paranoia induced by drugs that makes its users objects of pointlessness and ridicule on the Jeremy Kyle Show, is the conspiracy paranoia.

Conspiracy paranoia is probably larger than drug-induced paranoia, and is usually linked.  Most regular recreational drug users believe in conspiracy theories.

Conspiracy paranoia is the belief that ‘they’ are using you, and, ultimately, ‘they’ are out to get you.

‘They’ of course, can be the Illuminati, the government, the bankers, the Billderberg group, space aliens, time travellers, or even zombies, although ‘they’ are usually in control or secretly in control.  It doesn’t matter who ‘they’ are, ‘they’ are messing with your head and mind, according to conspiracy paranoia.

Conspiracy paranoia is big business.  Those feeding conspiracy paranoia are able to rake in thousand of Dollars.  And when info is ‘leaked’ about what ‘they’ are doing with our email and recordings of our phone calls, that certainly feeds the paranoia. When Google goes down for 5 minutes and doesn’t explain why, it feeds our paranoia.  Even if they eventually explain what happened, we are too paranoid to believe them.  They are obviously lying to us.

Somebody somewhere is getting ‘us’ exactly where they want ‘us’ by drip feeding us all the very latest paranoia about ‘them’ watching us.  It wouldn’t be those looking to destabilise society and send it into a cycle of eating itself would it?  I mean, it’s not people like ‘Anonymous’ is it, using us to enhance their power base?  Or maybe I’m just being paranoid.

The problem with conspiracy theory paranoia is that it sells.  It sells movies, tv shows, books, and ‘prepping’ paraphernalia.  And yet, we are still being manipulated.  It’s like we have no other function but to be manipulated by those who, it would seem, are there to probe and prod us, and those who are there to tell us to do x y or z to avoid those who are there to probe and prod us.  Still we are being manipulated ad infinitum, with both ‘sides’, both ‘theys’ feeding our paranoia.  Even if we ignore them all and don’t worry about anything ‘they’ have won.

It seems to be getting worse, and isn’t helped when we see revelations about the truth behind the death of Princess Diana.  What next?  The truth about the moon landings, JFK, 9/11?  Or maybe I’m just being paranoid.
