There’s news that some folk are to use the net to reproduce a radio station called “The Voice of Peace” which once upon a time many decades ago broadcast from a ship off the coast of Israel.

Will this be broadcasting to the Israelis asking them to try a bit of peace with the Palestinians? Maybe it’ll be trying to whip up public opinion about the illegal and ongoing settlements and make them feel guilty about ill-treating Palestinians like annoying cattle (which is what they call them) or cockroaches that are in Israel’s way. The station might even encourage Israelis to ask for forgiveness for their war crimes and attempted genocide in Gaza.

I can only assume it will be broadcasting to Israelis asking them to try peace as it is only staffed by Juedo-Christians, nobody Arabic, and the website is only in English and Hebrew, as are the programmes. There is not a thing in Arabic, so it’s obviously not aimed at Palestinians or anybody who follows Islam, so obviously the station’s not going to be preaching to them about peace.

Still, let’s hope it will get the message of peace across to the Israelis. Erm, it will be broadcasting a message of peace won’t it? Or will it be doing that far more radical thing of, erm, just playing old Western pop records?

Christopher England just asked that!
